Cookie Policy

Last updated: 6 November 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Papapolitis & Papapolitis (hereinafter referred to as “Papapolitis & Papapolitis”, “we”, “our” or “us”), with its registered seat at 268 Kifisias Avenue, Chalandri 15232, Athens, Greece, uses cookies and similar technologies on papapolitis.com (the “Website”) and how we process the information we collect through them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on any device (such as a computer, laptop, tablet or mobile phone) when you visit the Website. Depending on its type, a cookie may let the Website recognise your device on later visits, remember your preferences (for example, language), or give us information about how the Website is used so that we can improve it.

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they reach their expiry date or you delete them.

Similar technologies, including pixels and local storage, work in comparable ways and are covered by this policy.

2. First party and third party cookies

Cookies set by us are first party cookies. Cookies that belong to and are managed by others, such as service providers (for example, an analytics provider or an embedded video), are third party cookies.

The organisations that set third party cookies may recognise your device both here and on other websites, and may combine what they collect with information they already hold to build a profile of your interests. Those cookies are governed by the third party’s own policy rather than ours, and we would encourage you to read it.

3. Your choices

Under Article 4(5) of Law 3471/2006, only cookies that are strictly necessary to transmit communication or to provide a service you have explicitly requested are set without your consent. Everything else is set only if you give your prior, freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous consent by a clear affirmative action. Continuing to browse the site, scrolling or closing the banner does not count as consent, and no optional category is pre-selected.

You can accept, reject or adjust your preferences by category through the banner shown on your first visit. Rejecting optional cookies is as easy as accepting them: both options are presented with equal prominence on the first layer of the banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it, through the Cookie Settings control available on every page of the Website. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it. We keep a record of your choices so that we can demonstrate consent.

Rejecting non-essential cookies will not stop you using the site, though some features may work less well. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off.

4. What cookies mean for your personal data

Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under Article 4(5) of Law 3471/2006. They process your session identifier, your IP address and your approximate location derived from it. For that processing we rely on our legitimate interest in providing a secure and functioning website, and on compliance with our legal obligations.

Optional cookies may process the date, time and length of your visit, the pages you view, your device and browser information, your IP address, the page that referred you, and how you interact with the site. We rely on your consent for these under Article 4(5) of Law 3471/2006 and Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Legitimate interest is not used as a basis for optional cookies.

Some third party providers, such as Google, may transfer data collected through cookies outside the European Economic Area, including to the United States. Where this happens, the transfer relies on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where the provider is certified) or on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

More details are in our Privacy Policy.

5. Strictly necessary cookies

Required for the Website to work and to meet our legal obligations. They cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to something you do that amounts to a request for services, such as setting your cookie preferences or submitting a form.

6. Performance and analytics cookies

Optional. These let us count visits, see which pages are most and least used and understand how people move through the Website, so that we can measure and improve its performance. We use them only with your consent. Where we use Google Analytics, you can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie Settings; Google also publishes an opt-out browser add-on, and information about how Google handles data is available in Google’s own privacy policy.

7. Functional cookies

Optional. These remember your choices (for example, your preferences) and support embedded features. We use them only with your consent.

8. Targeting and advertising cookies

We do not currently use targeting or advertising cookies on the Website.

9. The cookies we use

The declaration below lists every cookie currently in use on the Website, grouped into the categories above, with each cookie’s name, provider, purpose, duration and whether it is first or third party. It is generated by an automated monthly scan of the Website, so it reflects the cookies actually in use and updates automatically.

10. Our emails

With your consent, our legal updates and invitations may contain small tracking elements that tell us whether a message has been opened, which links have been followed, and which parts of our website are visited afterwards. We use this to understand which updates are useful. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the link in each email or by contacting us, without affecting anything done before you withdrew.

11. Managing cookies in your browser

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking all cookies, including essential ones, may stop parts of this site working. You will need to change the setting on each device and in each browser separately. Instructions are published by each browser on its own support pages: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Opera.

12. Your rights

Where cookies process your personal data you have the rights set out in our Privacy Policy, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You may also withdraw your consent at any time through Cookie Settings, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

You may also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (Αρχή Προστασίας Δεδομένων Προσωπικού Χαρακτήρα), 1-3 Kifisias Avenue, 11523 Athens, www.dpa.gr, or to the supervisory authority where you live or work.

13. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time, so please check this page periodically. Changes will be posted here and the date at the top updated. Where a change is material we will give prominent notice on the Website before it takes effect, and where a change affects the cookies for which you have consented, we will ask for your consent again.

14. Contact

If you wish to exercise any of your rights above or have any questions or concerns in relation to this policy, please email us at papapolitislawfirm@papapolitis.com.
